Yesterday was my birthday and an old friend gave me a rifle and scope to celebrate. It is SS and Synthetic in 375H&H. Anybody want to guess beyond that?   Oh, the scope is a fixed 4x Leupie. art

My favorite has been the 270gr XFB. Have enough of them left to run for a couple more years then I will look to the TSX. My 700 is AIed with a 20" #5 Pac-Nor tube and it is a serious shooter. It is a real kitten, too with a Turkish walnut stock and a little cast-off to calm things down...
The birthday rifle is not a 70...

I have a 23" Schneider on mine, a 5 weight and it is a 375 Wby. To date it loves 235 and 270 TSX's, 260 Accu's and I have some 275B Bitteroots I am saving for a rainy day.

For following thigns up I have to have a stubby barrel... In the thick stuff a 20" barrel feels too long...
OlBlue shot his bear a couple years ago with the 300 Partition and the second round went full length, in the rump and out through the ear opening, perfectly! Was fairly impressive that it could cover that much distance and still leave.
The Failsafes have been a disappointment in the various 375s I have tried them in. The ABs do not give me the warm fuzzies, so the iterations have become it...

Not sure what I will do with it... Some would call it a gag gift... Truth is I know the rifle well and even killed a Kodiak bear with it in the spring of '97. Was the rifle that filleted my hand fresh out of the box. But it worked well enough...
