I need a quantity of muskrat for our classes. Any dealings with these folks? (Or any other suggestions?)

Sold a lot of fur to them years ago...

What classes and what quantity? Going to a furrier and geting trimmings should yield more fur than a fly-tying group could possibly use...

Good point sitka. I once got a ton of trimmings from all kinds of critters by a taxidermist I knew.

We use perhaps 25 2x2-inch pieces of natural muskrat each year in our Club's Intro & Intermed classes. I guess that a single skin would last three or four years.
I'm willing to pay for tanned- don't want to yuck out a newbie.

The only items our local furrier sells are horseshoes and iron nails.

It's not that much.
But we do try to err on the generous side, supplying our classes.

I've had some hides done by them and they do good work for a fair price and quick turnaround.

Here's a link the muskrat page:

Art, I think I found enough muskrat buried in Dad's stuff to handle us for this year. (Too bad I need the natural gray- found a bunch of dyed.)
