I always enjoy TC1's posts of his great rifles and this is yet another good one!
Although I appreciate how razor sharp edges on wood are a good way for a stockmaker to show off his skill, I do prefer the slightly broken edges of this rifle. These kind of edges will continue to look good after the rifle has been afield a few times!
TC1, would you care to adopt a university professor into your family?

Mark, I used a piece of wood off the blank and a little miles Gilbert bedding compoud. The Miles Gilbert is a little harder to use but it gets in tight places better.
John, you teach me how to spell and I'll teach you how to work a piece of sandpaper. Deal? HAR! :^)

That is what a "custom" rifle is supposed to look like, and be!
WOW!!! Very very nice indeed.
While there are areas of personal taste I would do differently, they don't warrant mention, because they're just my preferences and have nothing to do with the beauty or functionality of the rifle.
Outstanding...thanks for showing the pics.

Holy crap!
Man, that's one of the best looking rifles I've seen in a long, LONG time!
If it was a 9.3x62, I'd be trying to figure out a way to get it from you.....
Man, that rifle is stunning.

Man that looks great.
I have always been a purely functional gun guy, but some of the stuff you guys are building are making me want something that looks as good as it shoots. I hope I can resist the temptation, because I own too many customs. I know where a bunch of black walnut is laying around in Northern Va. They timbered my sisters place on cowherd mountain and left a bunch of butts about 6 foot long and 24 inches in diamater. Would this wood be any good for making a stock if it has been laying around since last August?

EddyBo;
The person to ask on that is Sitka Deer; if anyone would know, he probably would.
