I am looking to do some flounder giging in the near future in the Galveston bay. I have seen people build lights to use underwater as they walk. Most have been constructed with PVC, halogen lights, wires, and silicone.

Has anyone seen these? Do you know where I can get one? Or do you know the best parts to use to build one?

most of the flounder gigging I have done is in water 12" or less.

always used a gas/propane coleman lantern with the silk-like wicks.

some of my friends use a battery powered Q-beam with adjustable light intensity.

best bet is to put in a call to the local fishing stores or marinas in the area to see what they recommend

When I lived on the eastern shores of florida, I too used a coleman 2 mantle gas lantern. Used a piece of alluminum foil around half of the glass to reflect light. Worked great ! Also tied a string to the handle and base so you could hold at an angle and shine on the water.

Always check the tide. You want the incoming tide at around 9 o'clock PM or a little later. Stay in water that is no deeper then 18 inches. It's a lot of fun when you stab a 24" or bigger. Just hold it to the ground till he stops kicking.

While fishing at Table Rock (MO) a few years back, we were having cool beverages overlooking the lake after dark. A well rigged gigging/bow fishing boat came into to our cove. It had a rail built around the front deck and with a small generator in the back and electric flood lights. This flat bottomed boat had 4-5 fishermen on board. Good luck.
