A word of advice: do not leave your shotguns out of your sight. Not because of theft, which is always a concern, but of malicious mischief which happened at a MN range some time ago. I just heard about it Sunday and would never have thought someone would do such a thing..

Apparently, someone just walks by the gun racks and slips some paper down the bore.. Shooter grabs his/her gun, heads to the line, fires and the barrel blows up; paper confetty showering the line.. Fellow shooter had this happen to him and it was a $900 set of replacement barrels for his Browning XT.. Now obviously, everyone should check the bores before loading at the line but how many actually do this? Very few, and I'm as guilty as anyone there; only because I've never considered someone might do such a stupid stunt..

Bottom line: watch your guns or keep them with you at all times. Anyone else had something like this occur??

Never heard of this before but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Would be a particular problem for anyone shooting a pump or auto loader. Checking the O/U's or SxS's is not difficult but the others would likely mean taking the barrels off to check.

I'll mention this one at the club tomorrow as a general warning. Jim

never heard of this either.
I did have someone pick up my gun and flip the safety on. I about straighten the trigger out when I called for the bird. It was at the state tour. I got lucky as the bird broke as it flew accross the field!! It was called no bird and I got to shoot it over, otherwise it was going to be a lost bird.
First thing I did when I got my K80 was to turn the set screw and lock the safety in the off position
