Would I be the first or the millionth to say, "He's living the life of ..."?
Use two rods, get two salmon on, and there ya go - a gas-free outboard motor!

That's sweeeeet!!! What are the details? Rumor has it that one should be careful in attaching it to the top of a vehicle.
Was thinking of you guys today. It was the first day I could get back into the spot that we fished together last year. The road was still blocked by snow and downed trees so I had to pack a float tube in. After using a pontoon for years I had forgotten much about the float tube, like how long it takes to get to shore with a full bladder. Found several leaks in my waders that the pontoon had been keeping above the waterline, (like in the crotch!).
Got one fish on camera before the batteries went dead, perhaps the largest fish yet landed on that 3 wt Art was driving a few weeks ago.....

CnB, Beautiful 'Bow! I sense a story behind the vehicle attachment comment.

Indeed! Those little boats can actually fly quite a distance if you launch 'em fast enough!

That is a gorgeous fish! I thought that place was completely devoid of fish!
Did the waders leak from within, or without????

Funny, funny girl!
I think the place has fish that fear the sight of pink graphite!

Very cool. Did you get any pics?
BTW, kudos on giving Grayling the opportunity to set a financial goal and achieve it all on his own. Is he saving for a car next?

No, his inclinations are more along the lines of a new Ross and a GLoomis, and a.... And he has more quality rods than I do already!

I had an interesting day on the river today. I got 6 fish, didn't see a single mayfly or rise, and had an entire high school senior class paddle by. Kind of puts the brakes on the fishing to have 40 canoes go by but the bikini parade was nice.

Years ago I used to fish the Esopus Creek in the Catskills. Great river except for one little thing. (Or should I say two) NYC watersupply had a huge tunnel going from Schoharie Res. to the Esopus. When opened it would ause the creek to rise quickly and mud up. The other was the "Rubber Hatch" similar to what Rob endures. Tons of tourists from the city mainly, floating down the river on big inner tubes pulling ice chets of beer along and making a mess of everything. Got so bad they were slamming into fihermen who started fighting back by puncturing the tubes as they went by. What a mess it was. Quit fishing there needless to say.
Qtip Soli Deo Gloria!

Man! A buddy and I got schooled day before yesterday by Grayling! We sat on pontoons and watched him catch fish almost literally on every cast! He caught over 100 I am sure. My buddy caught none! Well, leaving he dragged a bugger down the lake and picked up three fish. But none before that.
I was catching only a few and kept asking the sneaky little twerp what he was using... Pheasant tail nymph was all he would say. That, and "I am watching them take it." I wrote it off to the difference between old and young eyes.
Finally looked at his fly and it was HUGE! Then I knew how he could see it and I swapped to a light olive lake leech... Bright day, so I was using dark (hard to see) flies. Suddenly I could see the fish hammering the fly. They were not even jiggling the strike indicator, at all!
Once I started watching the fly I started in on about 50 fish... But it was not easy... art
