Anyone use these? The only ones I know of are by Bad Boy Buggy and Ruff and Tuff.

Opinions?

They're modified golf carts, we use them at our deer camp. They're good within their limits. Their main advantage is being quiet, they don't stir up the place nearly as much as an ATV. The ones we have are modified club car golf carts, I think the bad boy buggy and the ruff and tough are also club cars. They're not going to get into and out of the places an ATV will, and obviously they have their limits on range with the battery pack. We've found that we can get about 15 miles out of one, we've tried to push them a couple of times and ended towing them back to camp with a four wheeler. They're not as well built as a four wheeler, they have broken down a few times in the woods, mostly battery terminals melting and a couple of controllers going out. I wish Honda would take it upon itself to build one, they're very useful and infusing some honda quality into one would make them an outstanding machine. The ones we've got were purchased already modified but if I were going to get one myself I'd buy a 3-4 year old 48 volt club car off of ebay and modify it myself. You could build one yourself for 2/3 the price of what they sell for. There are several companies that sell the lift kits, rims and tires, upgraded motors, and racks to put them together. Most of the companies selling them start with used carts anyway, so you're not getting anything special from them that you couldn't put together yourself. All in all we like them, just don't think that you're going to drive one to timbuktu or take them into serious off road conditions like an ATV will handle.
