What's your chamber like? Mine, shooting Win brass blows the web area out so large that the brass won't even run up into my neck sizer. I'm having to go back and run the brass through my body die to size it down. Melvin did tell me after the fact that he does size his chambers to accept ALL possibilties of ammo.

I have one, and can't say I have that problem. If I had one like your, it would go back. As much as I love them, a bad one does slip out every once in a while, I have had a couple with problems.

My 270 had a minimum chamber. Barely could see any expansion at the web, one of the better chambers I have had on -06 based cartridges. It'd go back if it were mine.

Supertrucker,
I just checked a loaded round of Nosler Custom Ammunition against one I had fired in my M24 .30-'06. I don't see any expansion at the web either.

I've sent it back once already. Melvin said my brass was just undersized. Still not happy. It does shoot good. I almost just want to send it back just to rebarrel it, but I'm sure I'll have to pay for it.

I guess I would've ask Mel what brass to use if mine was "undersize". Another option is ask around or ask here for some once fired 30-06 brass from other chambers to compare. Dave

Kimber sells thousands, NULA sells hundreds. Three NULAs with "problems" on this tiny (so far) thread? I'd bet the ratio of lemons may be closer than we're supposed to believe. Wonder who's going to be the leader of all future anti-NULA threads.

Won't be me. I think he has a great product. He could just have a bad (over sized)reamer.

Obviously. But in any other discussion it goes something like this--"...you'd think that for a thousand dollars this gun should blah, blah, blah...". And they'd be right. For a thousand bucks it should feed, function and shoot well. And the return/repair service should be good as well. I agree with all of that. And yet a rifle that costs three times as much should get a pass because of the builder's bad reamer?

Try the Lapua or RWS 30/06 brass with a set of Forster dies matched to the chamber. Have the necks opened up so that the dies do not oversize the necks.
It's not the reamer or chambering job -it's the brass that's not correct ......

It's more than likley not the brass......I had a similar problem with my NULA .257 ROY. It's often from the reamer not being perfectly centered with the bore of the barrel. It acts like a boring bar making a oversized chamber...usually concentric but oversized. Not acceptable and should be corrected. Rebarreling is the only option unless you want to send a case to Redding or Forester and have a custom die made. Thats the route I went cause the rifle shoots good and I didn't want to wait another 6 months to get it fixed. I still am happy with the rifle but this kind of thing is a PIA.
