Story goes that she missed another huge boar in the same area two days earlier. Observed it again just before shooting this one. The big guy wouldn't come out. Being a new hunter she asked her husband if this was a small bear. Apparently the other bear was large.

They are very nice folks and ethical hunters. We had a nice spring hunt but hope the word stays within the Campfire.
A couple of local lodges have been promoting self guided hunts at the shows. Bubba and friends signing up while trying to figure out exactly where they are going(While drinking a breakfast beer with a hotdog). Wounded bears, 16 inch skull sizes and sows. Not everyone but one is to many.
I've had the pleasure of meeting folks that pass up many bears instead of just shooting at a black spot. They would rather come back than whack just any bear!
This why I've only adverise on the Campfire.

Wow! Would love to see the "Big Bear"..................
Any info on rifle, components, shot, conditions - the story?

Congratulations on a beautiful bear. That bear looks big in comparison with the hunter. I would love to see the one that got away.

I recall that they mentioned it was a .270 with factory Winchester ammo.
