Does anyone have the Leupold removable mounts for the guide gun?

Im wondering if you can see the stock open sites with the removable mounts.

Thanks,

Matt

I have a basic Weaver rail on one of my Guide guns and the factory sights are visable just above the rail. I do not use the Leupold or Warne quick release,as I do not like the levers on the release, they are too large and have edges. Would like to see the new Millett rings.

For scopes, I use a Nikon turkey plex 1.5-4.5 Monarch. Nice large recticle and field of view w.o going the scout scope path.

I guess I may have read that incorrectly, yes you can see the sights with the scope and rings removed, no you can not see under the removable rings...

Valid question, I wonder too. A conventional base, such as Leupolds, is going to be pretty close to the line of the sights so someone with experience with them needs to respond.

My position is, for me, it don't matter! The only time I would expect to remove a hunting scope would be in rain or wet snow. With my old eyes being what they are I've removed the sights from my 336 as being brush hooks and only use a Bushnell 2-7x 3200 scope with the RainGuard coating. That works better, for me anyway, than irons in the rain!

I do use the Leupold QR mounting system on my M 700 Mtn Rifle in 30-06 though. In the early season I use another 2-7x/3200, after the leaves fall I switch to a 4-12x for longer shots. Each scope is zeroed and they stay zeroed during a swap, or so close as to not matter anyway. I really LIKE the QR system used this way!

Boom I like the QR system as well, but the more I think about it, Im buying a 2-7 Shotgun scope so i can get the heavy duplex, and I doubt ill ever remove the scope. With the 2 power, I hope Ill have a pretty decent setup and a quick draw to the target hopefully.

How do you like your 2-7??
