How long do you think until a "Alaska experience diet" book comes out? (grin)

Don't forget the seal stew.
Sea cucumbers.
Devil's club buds.
Various forms of seaweed.
Take the weight right off you...

I dunno- that 1948 K-rations Chef-boy-are-dese-bad, spaghetti and meatballs on that '68 Idaho fire would sure do the trick. Last choice of any of our rations, we'd eaten everything else, but had to stay another 48 hours after "last smoke".
Eaten cold.
We'd put the friggin fire out, and no-one had a light! It was awful. It kept us alive, but no one really appreciated it there toward the end.....

You have to plan these things better, Kid.
4 days after drinking Tustemena Lake water raw ( I was severely dehydrated to the point of not giving a chit, and knew I'd be out of there in a couple days anyway) I told the PA what I had, she gave me a bottle of pills and a $65 bill (insurance paid), and 4 work days later, I was back out hunting.....

Maybe they should send in some pilgrims for a summer session and see how they fare with black flys and mosquitoes. I bet they would lose wt.as well. m Cheers NC

No experience, but from what I've read of those black flies, I'll take Giardia! (With meds!)

It took me about 5 days of Flagyl to get my game back. Doctors back in Texas were a little behind the diagnosis curve.. I was first dropped off at the clinic in Ft. Providence, NWT by my crew boss. Ten seconds later I ran out of there, quite a lineup of tubercular First Nations folks in the waiting room. It made the Beaver Fever look not so bad.
