As per statute (for licensing purposes) I become a resident (again) this Sunday, after the Vintage Highpower shoot. Will celebrate by adding my $ to the poor, underfunded AK Dep of F&G! Bill

Congratulations.

I assume you've also registered to vote...some critical issues coming up this fall.

Where are you located?

I assume because your now a resident "for licensing purpose" that you paid the typical lower resident license costs, so why are you worried about the AK dept of F&G being under funded? Or did you send along a donation with your license fees?

I buy a NR (hunt and fish)for Ontario, Michigan and for a while in Kansas and Iowa, and sometimes Utah and Colorado see a little donation from me, and Kansas has a lifetime program, (I got a lifer while there)so... if you are not afraid to support your sport, you can pay quite a few places quite a bit! Money well spent, IMHO. I support alot of charuties!

The big town of Douglas, across the crik from J-Town. Registered autos, new driver's licenses, voter cards, (signed up to work election day),... as you are supposed to, once you are in state 30 days. For employment you are a resident at once, for licenses to hunt and fish one year, PFD, two Springs, odd isn't it? I go out of my way to be lawfull. Bill

Every place is different, that's for sure. I wish Alaska would do the "lifetime license" thing. South Dakota is 90 days, for hunting residency. Used to be in North Dakota you could go to the game warden and show him your driver's license, mortgage or rent receipt, and pay stub from your ND job, and they would give you "instant residency" for hunting and fishing.

Kinda makes sense -- moving is a lot more expensive than NR tags .

Welcome to the neighborhood -- SE Alaska is just a small town with long, wet streets... .
