The other week my cousin showed me his collection of Hendrix hand made knives. I liked the workmanship and style so I ordered one. I like to get other opinions on these knives. I like to know how they hold up in the field.

My son has a couple, they are nice knives. I talked with Wayne and Ruby at Blade this year, great folks. He brought a couple of dozen to the show and there were quite a few left on Sunday afternoon (which surprised me). I think you will be happy with your purchase.
He mostly works in ATS-34. Which steel and model did you order?

Approx. a year ago I ordered a knife from Hendrix's web site. Never heard back from him. I guess I would be shocked to hear from him at this point.
Also ordered 2 (I think) from Geno Denning at the same time. Have not heard from him either. Surprised, not really.
Sure is hard to go wrong with Gene Ingram!

I sent David Winston an e-mail over a month ago wanting to place an order for one of his knives and never got a reply back. I've got a Charlie May on order, an Ingram Bullnose Hunter, and a i've got a beautiful George Herron inspired knife coming from David Wesner. All the good knifemakers have a super long waiting list so I am scouring the internet looking for up and comers.

GenO called me a few weeks ago when I was driving home from Blade. He was letting me know he was running behind and if I had any changes to be made. His delivery times were 18 months or longer a year ago when I placed my order. I'm not too concerned.
As far as Wayne, I'd just give him a call. He had a bunch of knives at Blade and there may have been a foul up somewhere.
David Winston is pretty active on Bladeforums. He is making some really nice folders currently.

Probably they'll both call the same day to say the knives I ordered are ready!!
Then I'll need to scramble!

Wayne Hendrix makes excellent knives. His designs, materials, and workmanship are first rate. I have used Hendrix knives for several years and they hold up well in the real world.

His knives are great, period.I brought these home from Blade & the canvas "popular" model went to a friend, leaving me with a pair of linen micarta & ATS-34 beauties.I ordered a fillet, but I need to call,'cause my orders in the past, were never filled.Ruby told me,you need to speak with her ! for orders.Great people!

Vince, I have one like the one on the bottom of the pic, in black macarta handle. So I didn't go wrong.

Pat,his knives are really well made.He is a big time hunter / guide,so he knows what you'll need in a knife The model you have,I forget the number, but Wayne says it is his most popular selling, among the hunters If you look at my picture, you'll see ,one of the pair I have,is the blade profile of that model, with just a bit different handle The other one is what he calls the "S" knife & again, the model # I can't remember, but this was designed by George Herron,Wayne's teacher & friend, and is based on the Grohmann belt knife,so I am told Going to a custom knife show is great,to be able to handle the knife prior to purchase, but a big show like Blade,it was overwhelming.A good buddy had pointed Wayne's knives out from the Bladeshow '07,so I had it in my head to buy a few. I think you did real well. -Vince

Vince , I know he's a guide because my cousin hunts with him every year. Iam glad to see other people think highly of his work. My cousin said the same about them, they are great people. I think I will treat my self to one of his stag handle models.
