I'm surprised that anyone is surprised over this.
Gun ownership and use has been, and will continue to be, under attack by certain elements in society and the state and federal governments.
I would suggest that ALL gun owners join and support the NRA as well as their state associations because after November the onslaught is only going to get worse.
Both John McCain and Barrack Obama have indicated that good old Michael Bloomberg (virulent anti-gun mayor of NY City) is being considered for a high level position in their administration should they win. Neither candidate is gun-friendly, and even if McCain was he would have no power over the huge Democrat majority in both houses as well as all of the anti-gun Republicans out there.
