You are correct in that you cannot ship ammo by the US Postal Service. I use UPS you just have to have ORM-D on the outside of the package.

Depends on the where to a degree. I'm assuming UPS is an option in his area.
Also, is that Live Ammo as opposed to Dead Ammo........

Mr. rost495, It appears "small arms ammunition" can be shipped via UPS air transport. However, have been unable to find the specific requirements you must comply with that enable you to do so. (Double packaging perhaps, etc.) A review of available information at their website gave me indigestion. Their website recommends you call "UPS Hazardous Materials Support Center" @ 1-800/554-9964 for further information. Best Wishes

I believe when shipping ammo as cargo it is considered hazmat and requires a fee. I called fedex about shipping some to my father in canada and there was no problem with the border but they were going to charge $50 hazmat fee. You can bring up to 50 lbs per person if in correct packaging on Alaska Airlines as baggage but when shipping as cargo it is considered hazmat, go figure.

I think you'll have better luck at a main office. An agent or branch office usually spells trouble.

I don't think you are. I too seem to recall a post around here somewhere, where one of the AK guys was talking about sending up 12g hulls filled with powder and no shot.
