Have anyone weighed this stock(ADL) DIRECTLY from McMillan before skim bedding I'm getting to many variances from them as in thier stock weight just trying to make my mind up before we get going on the 300wsm build... Thanks in advance!!!
I have an olive Classic in Edge construction for a LA 700 in ADL configuration. Including Rick's black & silver webbing paint job it weighs 24.7 ounces on my postal scales.

Guys will a #4 contour barrel fit in this stock if I had the contour opened, or do I need to do something like a Sako Hunter with EDGE Technology for the 4 contour...
I believe McMillan will build any of their Remington 700 models utilizing Edge technology. According to the McMillan website, the Hunters Edge Ultralight will only accept up to a #3 Douglas. Both the McMillan Classic and Sporter will accept up to a #5.

If your striving to shave oz.'s and be light weight I'd look towards your #4 contour barrel for starters, much to be saved there by dropping down to a #3 and maybe fluting....

Yes I did George as per the weight definently will be going with the #4 being it will be here from Rock Creek on this week, it will be fluted as deep as it can weighing 2 3/4lbs before threading, chambering and will need to be cut and crowned hopefully it will be light enough.
Waterbug it's looking like I'll have to go with a McMillan Classic or Sporter to accommodate this #4 I'll be getting thanks for the valuable info. Gentlemen!
