Just put these two rifles together this week and made it to the range last evening.
Rifle No. 1 is an older model (no prefix) Remington 700 LA with a PacNor No. 1 contour chambered in 280AI and finished at 23" wearing Talley LWs and a Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x40. I sprayed it with Matte Black Duracoat. The stock on this rifle is a McMillan Mountain Rifle in Edge, but actually belongs to my (currently in progress) 257 Roy. When McMillan finishes the stock for this rifle, it will wear a Classic in Gap Camo. Current weight as shown is a hair under 7lbs 12oz. Our own Redneck aka Lee Christianson did the barrel/chamber work.
Best group: Other groups that showed promise:
Rifle Numero Dos is a Remington 700 PSS in .223 that I stuck in a McMillan HTG stock that I bought off of here. Wears old style Williams bottom metal, some sort of Burris rings (which will be replaced with something more Tacticool) and the standard issue Leupold VXIII 3.5-10x40.
It seemed to shoot ok...

VERY well thought out .280AI. Nothin' not to like about it.

I had the best luck with H4831SC in my 280AI. My all time favorite deer rig.

The one group I shot with H4831SC is shown. Momma started wondering if I was going to ever come home and I had to pack it up and leave before I shot the other loads I had worked up. I'm interested to see how the rest of the loads do.

So far I like the Alumahyde, but that was the first time ever for me to spray-gun anything and first time using Duracoat. With better technique I might reverse that choice. Hard to say though as the limited use I've put the Alumahyde through, it's been pretty danged tough, not to mention easy to use and apply.
