After scourging around my basement, I think I have everything to change over to a ADL stock. I am pretty sure I have the screws but will need to get this mag box with the little tab on it. I find out I can use the mag from the BDL but this does not have the little tab for the screw to hold this mag to the action.
Checked out midway and they have the mag box with the tab and its $9.99 and will cost me shipping prolly in the $10 range LOL.
Was wondering if anyone has tried to do ADL without the tab? I *think* it can be done but may be a hassle truing to get everything lined up. So my guts say I need to just fork up for a mag box.
Anyone got one laying around that wants to swap with me or sell outright?
I am soon gonna list some 308W plinking ammo, all factory fodder, in the Winchester/Federal Classic/Remington CoreLokt. I would trade some of this for a 4X33 scope and a M8 will be fine. Hoping to make it worth shipping to get something in return and get a mag box.
Thanks and confirm if we absolutely have to use the tab screw on the mad box for ADL setup.

My ADL carbine, which I bought used in 1966 & converted to BDL via buying the BDL trigger guard/floorplate & cutting out the bottom of the mag well in the wood stock, never had any "tab".
The blind mag well, in the wood stock, was inletted to the proper depth so that the bottom edge of the mag box rested solidly against it when the top edges were seated in the action underside - with the stock screws snugged up.
The mag spring simply beared against the bottom wood.

I have an ADL box with screw for a SA out in my shop if you want to trade straight across for your BDL box.

RickB,
Yeah, I will do a straight trade for your ADL mag box with tab screw for my BDL mag box. Send me your addy and I will get it packed up and sent out tmw AM.
You would not happen to have any extra three ADL screws? If you have them and want to part with them, let me know and I'll tuck cash in with the mag box when I send out. If ya don't have the three screws, that is ok but still want to swap the mag boxes.
Thanks!

Use the ADL box with the screw. If the mag box is pinched between the stock and the action, it can adversely effect accuracy. See Sundra's latest article in G&A (I think).

When you're ready, I have a new ADL stock with Decellerator already installed. Let me know.
