Finally had a cool evening to shoot the new .308W instead of the hot muggy days of last week. In the heat showed potential, but I thought it could do better. This evening with temps around 73 with a new load of RL 15 and 150 nbt and tsx. Started to come around.

Win. Model 70
.308 Bratlein #3 fluted at 21 in
McMillen edge
Factory trigger
Leupold VX II 2x7 Leupold dot
7.5lbs empty

How much 15? Velocities? My Ruger RSI .308 likes 150 Hornady SP's and 48 gr Re 15, for 2700 fps from 18.5".

Looks like your rifle is starting to work... .

Dennis

ps...I like the random dog pic...nice touch.

pps...I consider 73 degrees on the definitely warmish side, nearing hot .

Load is 44gr of RL15. Will move it up some this week and see how that works.

No chrony so velocities always questionable. I kind of reverse engineer from bullet drop at longer yardage if I get the urge to frustrate myself by doing something that does not tell me much.

The end of July I will get a chance to experience your hot weather. Going to Wasilla for the AK State sporting clay shoot with daughter and granddaughter for 3 days then kick around doing who knows what for 7 more. Should definitely be COOL regardless of weather!!!

Nice rifle. I can't tell, but is that an ADL edge?

They list a classic Remington and Winchester that looks the same to me. Yes it ADL style with a no floor plate.

Will check this evening. I normally do 3 plus one in chamber and leave it go at that. Not sure if it will take 4 plus 1. Will get back with answer.

Brad

It will take 4 in the magazine box along with 1 in the chamber.
