Hey guys. I don't know much about Ar's, but I do know that I want a heavy barreled AR with a free floated hand guard. I have a RRA Carbine with a 16 inch barrel with removable carry handle. A friend wants to trade his Olympic arms pcr-98 24 inch stainless heavy barreled free floated AR for mine, straight up. What do you think?

I would not make that trade. Keep your lower and put the upper for sale. Then buy a RRA, Bushmaster, etc. heavy barreled upper. OR, keep the shorty & just buy another upper if it won't ding the wallet too badly. The heavy barrels are fun at the range, but you really don't want to hump it if you're 'yote hunting or just hiking with a rifle.
The beauty of the AR platform is their modular nature. Make it into exactly what you want, for various uses!

RRA Predator is the way to go for heavy barreled AR-15s, IMO.

look into the rra nm a4 upper keep the rifle you have now and swithch uppers as you need. the nm a4 can use a scope or sights and will shoot about .75 minute. selling ar stuff at this point in time is like selling 3.00 a gallon gas.

keep the RRA and scrape the money together to buy a new upper.
