Here is my latest semi custom rifle. Its a 338-06 in a Richards microfit stock and has a redfield 2-7X30 scope. Its a very nice handeling rifle and I hope it shoots as good as it looks. I might add another coat of truoil to it in the future but I think it looks pretty nice for the first time finishing a stock.

Nicely done; kind of a cool retro Weatherby style, now you have to drive to the range in a car with fins!

The goal for the rifle was to make it into a classic looking custom like a mauser that we have seen so many of and love or a nice factory weatherby. I think I accomplished this and this was also built for a rifle building contest and hopefully it will do well in that too. I know alot of people think Savages are ugly but I think most could warm up to one like this.

REally nice wood there! And a Accutrigger Savae should shoot pretty darned well. Good luck in the contest. REal eye catcher there.

The only change I would make is to forge the bolt handle backward to approximate the shape of an FN or pre-64 Winchester handle, that would put the knob right above the trigger and look good to boot. It's a fine looking rig as it sits, but that change would make it unique if nothing else.
