Just got a couple of mounts back ... both bucks from the '07-'08 season. The shoulder mount is the smaller buck of the two, antler-wise... Euro mount goes about 127-128" ...

The guy that did the taxidermy, Freddy Smith of Wildlife Reflections here in LA, does exceptional work, and for a very nice price. Neither of the two bucks pictured is exceptionally large, but the first one was good enough looking to have stuffed ... not to mention the work that Freddy does is superb, thus the posting of the pics.

very nice! I really like the looks of the Euro mount, but it is obvious that your taxidermist is an artist. Both mounts are exceptional.

Very pretty mounts WGM, I like how he captures the real look of the deer.
Your taxidermist is very good.
I for one will never have a mount in my house that both ears are forward in a alert position, Yours are facing back.....very natural and pretty looking.
I have a few mounted where one ear is forward and one is rearward, that looks cool too.

Even though you're an LSU fan, I have to admitt those are some great mounts! Louisiana deer or out of state? Either way, congrats!

they are LA deer ... very close to the LA/MS border near Woodville, MS ...

the shoulder mount was taken at the very beginning of the season, and was a shade under 200lbs whole. His inside spread is about 15", and he likely scores about 112" ...

The euro mount was taken at the end of rifle season, and was a bit 'thin' from the rut he just went thru ... he was only about 180lbs whole, but his inside spread is about 16.5", and he likely scores just under 130" ...

You and me both Bart! I like those Euro mounts.

Both are real nice looking mounts though - and that taxidermist is indeed an artist. Very nice!
