Aside from shooting a few sage rats with it, All I have shot is paper and rocks. So today I went up to my rimrocks.

Started shooting squirrels from here.

Then followed the shade around the lil canyon untill I ran outta ammo.

Over all it was a nice day. Shot about 20 or so. Lots and Lots an Lots of glassing though. Those lil buggers blend into the rocks like no other.

I think the only thing different next time will be that I'll bring a Bi-pod. As due to the terrain, shooting prone is a PITA

I've taken yotes at 500+ with mine.
they are nothing to shirk at. they get allot of flak at times, but of the 5 or 6 deer I've shot with mine all dropped dead on the spot. great guns. what kind is yours?
Mine is a ruger M77MKII.

Thanks guys. One of these days I'm goona man up an scale across the far wall of the main canyon.

I have climbed about half way up it before, but I ran outta juice. Goona make it this summer though. Gotta hunch it will produce some decent pics

Bogger,

Knowing that area well... for the out of staters, those pictures of yours still don't truly show how rough of terrain it is back in there...

if they can imagine standing on a vantage point and then realizing it is pretty much like that 360 degrees around them.. then they may start getting an idea...

were you shooting that H 414, 60 grain HP load? if so, there really wouldn't be much left to take a picture of anyway...
