Go to some of the internet auction/sales sites and do a search--there are quite a few of them listed and you will get a good idea of price range.

The last one I saw for sale locally was about 98% condition. Asking price was $600.00.
It's one of Remingtons primo rimfires, very accurate!

For an 'S' model?? Wow... That one had the sporter barrel..

The 'T' version had a bull barrel.. I happened upon one (541-T) about 10+ years ago at the local shop.. It was in about 98% condition. $375.. I sucked it up like a Hoover Deluxe.. Using Eley ammo, this rifle is scary accurate... About 5 years ago my son took it to a turkey shoot. IIRC, he won 9 turkeys and hams with that rifle.. They didn't want to let him shoot anymore.. \:D

The 541-S was made from 1972-1981

IIRC, the 541-T is a totally different model, made from 1986-1999.

True.. But my resource says the S was made til '84..

The T version was built in two configurations; a sporter version and the HB (heavy barrel) version, new in '93..

I erred in my post further above re: barrel configs.. My bad..

The 541S's and 541T's are really nice rifles. Now if we just could get a decent magazine for them!

You got that right! Back around 1996 or so I bought a 541T new for $175 from a discount store. Its a great shooter. But the magazines are terrible. I bought six, 10 round magazine for mine over a period of a few years. Only THREE of them functioned most of the time!

The 5-shot magazines work just fine. Of course, they aren't sold retail anymore. I haven't had any trouble with the 10-shot ones, but I usually use my 5's. It takes a while to get over the "it's just plastic" for such a fine rifle.

I have found the 541-S to be more valuable than the 541-T. $600 would be a fair price on the 541-S in good condition. Remington made the 541-T with a sporter barrel and later with a heavy barrel. Based on what I hear, there is no noticable accuracy difference between the -T's regardleass of barrel. I have had a 541-S for years. I'm in the process of acquiring my first 541-T. We'll see how it does.

Yeah, I've been VERY careful with the magazines in this rifle..

My software does show the 'S' to be more valuable than the 'T'..

I have seen the 541s for $550 fair to $1000 excellent shape. the 541's is worth more than the 541't.

I bought a 541s 4 or 5 years ago from a guy at work. He had two and he wanted to keep the 541t. I paid $400 for the rifle that included a cheap scope with decent mounts. The action is bedded and the trigger was worked. I already had a 52B but I soon found that the 541 is every bit as accurate.

The 541's are great little 22 rifles. I'm hoping that the 547 is as good or better. All of the reports on the 504 were disappointing as I was ready to go out and buy one as soon as I started seeing them in stores. Keep those 541's, they will be forever loved by rimfire shooters who seek a quality rifle at a moderate price tag.

I bought my 541-S around 1990. That was after a lull in my shooting for a few years when I traveled a lot and really had no where to keep a bunch of rifles. I believe I paid $400 back then... wow, that's 18 years ago now. Time flys.

98% 541S will bring in the 600 to 650 range. 541T sporter a couple hundred less. 541S has a much better adjustable trigger.

I bought my 541S in '92 for $315. Thought it was a lot back then, but I really wanted it. Best $315 I ever spent. My kids are going to love it, if I ever give it up.
