Well I recieved another optics component from Doug today that is categorized as a demo or show piece that as always appears to be brand new. Thanks a bunch Doug.....Your the Man!

I bought one of the Pentax PF-65 ED IIA spotters from Doug and got to put it to the test at the shooting range immediately (literally unpacked it in the range parking lot). For anyone out there shopping for a spotting scope, these underrated Pentax PF-65's deserve a hard look! I have owned a Leica Televid 62 and a Zeiss Diascope 65 and this little Pentax flat out imressed the chit out of me today.

Yep, and the 80mm will do the same with Cameraland folks on the service end.
Just curious why you got the Pentax after getting the Diascope not but a few months ago?

I've been trying to get Doug to officially adopt me for over a year now. I always buy something when I ask...or I always ask when I buy something...oh, what the hell, I always buy something.

I purchased some Geovid rangefinders that we supposed to be demos a couple of years ago. The Geovids appeared to be NIB to me. Not a blemish, scratch, nothing...perfect shape and at significant savings.

Doug is da Man!

Agree with everybody on Doug's excellent service, and his "Best" prices.
I just ordered and received from Doug a Zeiss Conquest 4x scope that I have not mounted on a rifle yet. Looks great however...

I've been looking a little at that spotter as well. Are you using the regular eyepiece or the XW eyepieces? I'm tole the XW adds a "wow" factor to the package. Thanks.

Fair enough, just wondering. You're impressed enough with the zoom, huh?

Very much so, and I have to add that none of the other spotters I have owned had 60X capability and though I am well aware of the fact that under less than ideal conditions 60X could be useless, but with a cloudy day like yesterday I was totally able to use 60X and all I kept thinking was damm, you could definately determine if a ram was legal or not using 60X where as you might not at 45!

Ditto on Doug's great service. I bought one of those Vortex 12x50 Vultures on special, with the $10 special on the chest harness. I was not impressed with the binocs optics at all; a 12x50 pair of Nikon Actions that I paid about $50 for on sale were far superior in just about every optical parameter. I called Doug about the return, noted that I got the strap on special, and asked if I could keep it. He asked me to pay $10 for his shipping to me, and I said that was only fair. Very impressive. I've bought other stuff from him in the past, and I'll be buying more.

Thomas, I believe if they open one up in AK, they would have to charge you state sales tax!

I agree with everything said about the Cameraland crew.

If you don't buy from Cameraland; you are either ignorant or an idiot.

I sure agree with ya on Doug. A few months back, I won a Minox spotter. Great glass, and an even better guy.

Last week, I bought a new Pentax 1.75-5X from him. He gets all my business that does not go to RickBin.

Straight or angled?

How much of the Leica or Zeiss would you say the Pentax is? IOW, is the Pentax 80% of the scope the others are?
