Damn! Starts in a couple of weeks and goes to about Sept 18 or 19. I was hoping to get in about 2 trips consuming around 15 days for summer steelhead somewhere in the first 3 weeks of September. Hopefully someone will plea out and I can still find a time slot to get out. I live for those trips though, and don't like doing them on a moments notice. I guess the upside is they didn't mess with my October hunting seasons.
Maybe if I walk in with a hangman's noose on a coiled up rope they'll excuse me. Just my rant, 1Minute

That's usually the way it goes. If you can prove that you have already spent advance money for the trips and you will lose it if go to jury duty you MAY be able to get out. I'm a little better off. After 27 yrs. as a cop I don't think any attorney would want me in the "box".

With a few questions about my background, I typically get excused, and have to keep coming back for subsequent trials. If one does get seated early on for a quick trial, however, he/she is released from later call ups. Unfortunately, I don't have any confirmed reservations or plane tickets that I can take in for show and tell.
I guess I should keep a travel agent on retainer that can write up some pre-dated tickets on demand. This a sparsely populated county, and one can end up beside the judge or court clerk at about any ball game or diner counter. While one can postpone duty, we eventually have to do our time. If it was my choice, a Feb, March, April call up would be more convenient. 1Minute

Retired Naval Officer and Engineer has had me dismissed pretty quickly in the past. Not sympathetic to wining and won't be swayed by emotion is my guess.
Last weekend I was blown out by t-storms and our low gradient trout stream muddy up quickly here but Friday am it looks like the west fork of the Patuxent, my three weight and I have a date

Good luck! Haven't wet a line yet due to some health problems. Maybe the fall.

I got called in two years ago. I sat through one selection, didn't get interviewed, sat through a second, got interviewed and asked to be dismissed for cause because I laughed when the prosecuting attorney asked if I would be comfortable awarding his client millions of dollars for his injury. I've got one more year of grace before my name goes back in the hat. I'm thinking of employing the "Irritable Bowel Syndrome" defense strategy next time I'm called.
