pre 64 vs Classic actions

With just the unstocked, unbarreled actions side by side, how can I tell a pre 64 Model 70 from the newer Classic actions? They look pretty much the same to me.

The Classic is longer, it's a long-action....
There's a bolt stablilizing lug on the pre-64, that's not on the classic.
The raceway of the classic has a anti-bind broach cut in it that the pre-64 doesn't.
There are several changes along the way on the pre-64's that will set them apart in terms of years made......Post-War, Pre-War, Transitional period that will show up in the top of the receiver, rear tang, and bolt shroud.

Simply check the serial number.
All post-64 model 70's will have a serial number above 700,000.
