This bullet shoots so well in my Ruger 7mm Rem Mag that I'm tempted to use it on elk this year.
I already know that the Nos. Partition is a great bullet(let's try to stay on the topic here guys).
Those with Mag-Tip experience on elk please share your thoughts.
Thanks, Leftybolt

It will do just fine! I have hunted Elk for 26 years and have never had any get away with my 7mm. My gun also loves 160gr speers. Just my 2 cents worth. Later!

Have never used Mag-Tips but my Ruger M77 loves 160g Grand Slams and they were my choice for 20-21 years. They worked flawlessly.

My son took a nice Bull with his 7 mag using 175 Mag-Tips and a cow with a 280 Rem loaded with the 175s as well. Great performance on both. Have never tried 160s, but have found the Mag-tips to have great terminal terminal performance on numerous Deer as well. We got away from using them, switching to Noslers, but I could use them with confidence.

The Mag Tips are great bullets, just a bit blunt. I have used the 175 gr. 284 and the 180 gr. 308 mag tips with excellent results, deep penetration and very good accuracy. They also open well on light game like deer.

I've been loading 160gr bullets in .280's and 7RM's for myself and others for many years.
I don't think there's a bad one out there in a 7RM. Mag Tip's are as good as any.

Hello,
I have used the 160 gr Mag Tip in my 7x57 at 2700 fps on Red Deer. It works very well including shoots throught the spine or other bones. It usually exits leaving a good exit hole.
