Anyone know if the triggers on SPS rifles are different or an improvement overthe triggers on the older ADL/BDL rifles?
I notice the trigger on the SPS rifle I have has one screw in front of the trigger housing while I thik my previous BDL rifle triggers had two screws in the front trigger housing.
If the SPS have one screw in the front trigger housing, then how do you adjust the trigger with one screw? Seem much simplier than the older triggers. Did anyone comment on these SPS triggers? I cannot find any posting but recall there was a brief discussion on the new SPS triggers.
I am itching to adjust the trigger on my SPS rifle as it seem to be around 3 or 4 pounds...a tad heavy

All new 700's and I believe 7's coming out of the factory have the new X Mark Pro trigger installed.
The new triggers have the same number of adjustment screws, it's just that the overtravel and sear engagement screws are epoxied in so Joe-SixPack doesn't mess with them.

I bought a stainless SPS in summer of 2006. The trigger broke off, and appeared to be made out of some sort of plastic or polymer, it weighed less than a dime. Does anyone know if the new SPS x Mark Pro Trigger is metal or plastic?

RickB,
I believe the older triggers were epoxied too. Yeah, the JoeSix-Pack is going to muddy this trigger up and see if it can be reduced some.
Straydog, hate to see this happening to you. I see alot of guys offering praises on the new triggers, hope you got a lemmon. Mebbe Big Green will send you another one if you ain't no JoeSix-Pack?

No they weren't. They had a fingernail polish type substance painted over them that could be removed with a tooth pick.
The new ones have for real epoxy on the threads of the overtravel and sear engagement screws. I know this because unlike allot of people posting about them I have actually stripped one completely down. You can view the pictures on this site showing the completely disassembled X Mark Pro trigger I did.
Unless you have done the same don't tell me about these triggers.

Unless Remington snuck one in on me while I wasn't paying attention I have never seen nor heard of a plastic trigger on a 700.

Their made out of friggin' stainless...not plastic, Jeezus.
Weight adjustment is all they want you to adjust, they'll adjust nice and sweet down to 2ish pounds for the average Joe Six Pack.
I tweeked mine to 1 3/4 pounds, but I'm an above average Joe Six Pack......
