I am just finishing putting together my 375HH and I bought a new 700 CDL magnum stock from Fleabay. It has their new Supercell recoil pad. It feels amazingly like an our popular Asian flip-flop pad but with a firmer outer shell.

Anyone have any experience with this pad. Is it the new thing or another POS cheapening of the 700?

Dunno if it's a cheapening measure or not, but figure it to be a replacement for the R3 pads they had been using, which have a tendency to become sticky or tacky.

Looks like they're going a lot further in advertising this change than they would for a purely cheapening move. Seems like an interesting option for a lightweight rifle. Can you get any idea of its density or weight? (may not be possible while it's on your stock)

It really feels like those cheap flip-flops and is very light. I think I'd rather have a sturdier pad if I was dragging it through thick/sharp brush all the time. I just weighed it on my postal scale at 2.5oz. To give you a point of reference, a one inch pre-fit (Rem 700) Pach decelerator is 3.8oz.

The project is turning out just slightly lighter than expected. I am targeting 9 to 9.5 pounds with 3 cartridges, sling, scope, mounts and all. I'm at 8 pounds 5oz but I'll see how she shoots first before I do anyhting.

All else being equal, which it's probably not, it sounds like a good way to shave another 1 1/2 or so ounces off a lightweight. It does seem like this pad will work better as a recoil reducer than do flip-flop pads. I'll check one out for my next lightweight stock. Thanks for posting on it.
