Dunno if it's a cheapening measure or not, but figure it to be a replacement for the R3 pads they had been using, which have a tendency to become sticky or tacky.

Looks like they're going a lot further in advertising this change than they would for a purely cheapening move. Seems like an interesting option for a lightweight rifle. Can you get any idea of its density or weight? (may not be possible while it's on your stock)

All else being equal, which it's probably not, it sounds like a good way to shave another 1 1/2 or so ounces off a lightweight. It does seem like this pad will work better as a recoil reducer than do flip-flop pads. I'll check one out for my next lightweight stock. Thanks for posting on it.
