Will a 20 gage 1100 be interchangeable with a 12 gage 1100? One of my nephews will likely be joining us for deer hunting this year. They have a youth model 1100 in 20 gage, but he's pushing six feet tall. Thinking about seeing if anyone has a full size butt stock laying around and need to know what to ask for.

They are not the same. You will need a stock for a 20ga 1100.

A replacement stock for that Rem. 1100 20 ga. might be difficult to find. You might want to consider the use of a slip-on recoil pad (Note: You can add an additional wood spacer between slip-on and stock butt to get the desired LOP.) for the limited time your nephew will be using the gun. Since they are a relatively "hot" item on the used gun market, you may be smart to keep the 1100 as a Youth Model.
Good Luck, GPA

They'd still keep the youth stock. He has 3 younger brothers. That's why just buying a buttstock is an attractive option. His older brother is ready for a 12 gage, so I plan on loaning him my 870 until he gets his own, and he can pass that down to his brother, who can pass the 20 g down. Kind of assembly line style. I found a Choate modular buttstock for the 1100 on Midway for ~$60, but I can't figure out what size frame it's for, and Midway's application chart positively sucks.
