I just finished watching Tombstone" again, the one with Kirt Russell, and I gotta say its my favorite Western of all time. The cast seemed so perfectly suited. The outfits, and guns, the scenery. What do others deem their favorite?

Does Quigley Down Under qualify? If not then The Outlaw Josie Wales.

There was only one, "Wagon Train". Course that was way back when.

Agreed

"She wore a yellow ribbon" is the best of the rest as far as I am concerned.

I gotta pile on the Lonesome Dove wagon....wasn't a movie, it was an epic....hard to pic a bad John Wayne...I'd say Shootist is best of his, but True Grit is hard to beat...Tombstone rocks, but I think Val Kilmer outshown Kurt Russel, Broken Trail w/ Duvall is unbeatable....damn, there are no bad Westerns...there's just good and better.

I'm gonna add "Ulzana's Raid" to the list.

The only Western I know of that delved into the logisitics and tracking duels involved when pursuing mounted war parties over many miles.

Val Kilmer should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role of Doc Holliday. He looked like he was going to drop dead from TB and cirrhosis throughout the entire movie.
