That is a little odd... In the 243 anyways.
I had best luck with Benchmark in the 338 Fed. And I have the best luck with Varget in the 308's. Those are both my top velocity/accuracy powders in those two calibers.

Had real good results with it in .308 w/150s and .223 w/50s.

When Seafire Jr gets back from Scout Camp with the family digital camera, I'll post a couple of targets that I shot out of a 22.250, that was using some IMR 4895, that I pulled out of some surplus 1942 30/06 rounds, that were disassembled to get the armour piercing bullets on top...
the cases are stamped 1942...
I took the powder and loaded it in 22.250 just to see how consistent old WW 2 stock would be...
the pictures will show it... they produced some unbelievable groups for powder manufactured about 65 to almost 70 years ago!

IMR 4895 is an excellent powder. I have had excellent results with it with both the .30-06 and .308.

IMR-4895 is the power used in the 222 Rem Mag ammo I bought from Midway, with 50 grain bullets. The accuracy is excellent for factory ammo. I will be using that power when I shoot up all of the factory rounds, duplicating the factory stuff. The ammo is made by Nosler for Midway on a custom basis, using 50 grain Nosler BT's. I know Nosler makes 222 ammo along with the mag, but don't know if other calibers are made also.

I had a 6mm Rem that loved IMR 4895 and 85 gr Speer boattails.
Then I decided I needed a handgun more than I needed a rifle that would shoot quarter inch groups so I sold it. DUMB!!!!
