Get some regular rat traps. Screw them onto a tree or a fence post about a foot or 2 off the ground, with the trigger facing down. Use some thread, fish line or thin wire and attach a piece of chicken liver onto the trigger and then set the trap. Another thing you can do is make a wooden box about the size of a shoe box or you can use a shoe box if you have one and drill a hole about 2 inches in diameter in the box and set your trap inside the box with the chicken liver attached to the trigger for bait.

The 110 would be a better option but I assumed that he probably wasn't a trapper and didn't have any on hand. The rat traps are available anywhere and work good for the weasels. They screw on to a tree or fence post easy but you should drill a pilot hole first so the wood doesn't split.

A little trick that you probably already know with those 110's or any conibear for that matter is to take clear fish line and separate the forks of the trigger and tie the fish line to each of them so it spans for one side to the other. That way they won't be able to sneak by and not trip the trigger.

I live in the woods, and have lost chickens to weasles too. I was thinking about wooden boxes. I'd like to leave them out year round, and was wondering about bait. Do you think a weasle would go through a box with holes on both ends just for curiousity? Maybe jerky, or some other bait you wouldn't need to change often would help?

Rat traps and a box work great for rats also. Just toss the trap once it has caught a rat, because the rats actually smell that another died there and won't go to the trap. Cats cant get in the box, but rats can. A toilet paper roll makes a good entrance to the box to keep the cats feet out. A metal trash can with a little feed in the bottom traps mice btw.

Definately go with the rat trap. They work and won't catch unwanted by catch.

The title of the thread made me think
Put a pile of tax payer money out side of congress and hide behind a tree with a hammer.
