I'm going to be in San Francisco for the Labor Day long weekend. The Pacific is a looooong ways away for a prairie guy. I'm a bigtime musky/pike/bass/walleye/whatever fisherman.
Can somebody please recommend some kind of quality saltwater/offshore charter thingy? Not even sure what species are doable but.....
Thanks in advance.

Head out to the Farallons for lingcod and rockfish, cost around $100 for the charter+tackle rental+bait. Or you could bring your heavy bass gear and do ok too, unless you hook into a good sized lingcod, when you'll be wishing you had it on a Musky rod. Lots of folks use much heavier gear, but it's not really necessary.
If the Albacore are in, and they should be at that time of year, you can get on a charter for $250 or so. I've only gone tuna fishing once, but it is far and away the most exciting fishing I've done.
If you can handle yourself in a kayak, PM me, as I might be able to get you out on the bay or in the ocean with a group of kayak anglers.
Regards, Scott
