Last night I happened upon three CZ Safari American's, in 375H&H, 416 Rigby and 458 Lott. They had to be the best pointing bolt action rifles I ever picked up, The 375 had fantastic wood, the 416 was very good and the 458 ok. I wish there were some way I could justify one, buth the choice between the first two would be difficult, although a 416 would be fun but expensive to shoot.

the 416 is the one to get, IMO! Go for it!

Here's a picture of my CZ Safari American, the wood is nice and I'm really happy with it.

A .375H&H with fantastic wood?

Duh, get that one....... damned near impossible to top that cartridge for anything short of pachyderms.

I have been trying like heck to wear out one in 416 Rigby, but if Africa is not on the menu the .375 would be a totally cool all around fun big gun. In the CZ, the recoil would be a piece of cake. Whatever you do, don't let all three get away from you.

It's not quite as pretty as the one Colorado posted, but still very nice. Wife gave me the ok so called and had it put back and will pick up Friday.

Well I went by to pick it up, and had planned on getting the .416 also, but it was gone. We were going on to our other house in NE Louisiana, near a very good parish operated range, and when I got there discovered I had not placed my big box of .375 reloads in my carrry bag. I had just placed a partial box of Rem factory loads, only 6 rounds, so I passed on my son and I shooting together that weekend. I tried to locate some in some of the "better" stores there, but it is not popular in that part of the country. I may try again this weekend, without a gun purchase. I did get lucky, I found it at a Gander mountain in Tyler, Tx, and they have a special discount going now, so I got it for $100 less than what I had expected.

Congrats on the new rifle! I'm sure it's a beauty. Recoil is very mild in my CZ. Just ensure it's glassbedded properly and maybe have the action smoothed up a little. Does yours have crossbolts? Hate to split that pretty stock.

Once again, congratulations

I have been slicking up the action a bit. It has no crossbolts but has a large mortice with a rectangular steel bar inserted so recoil is transmitted to the forearm area where it bears on a lug below the rear sight. This is in addition to a standard rear recoil lug. I think I will go with the glass bedding.
The trigger is so nice I cannot think of a need for the set function.

I think I figured this posting out, hope it works. Mine is not as pretty as the one posted earlier, but is a field grade stock rifle. I will replace the Leupold rings on scope with Warne qd rings.

I finally got to shoot it today, and while no pussycat, it's not bad, My featherweight Mod 70 in 30-06 recoils harder. Only shot at 25 and 50 yards, but nice little clusters, most bullets touching each other.

Fun part was I also carried my 45-70 and 458 and let a couple of friends try them all. I created some instant big bore fans with comments of I've got to get one of these.

The strange thing was that I ran into another gentleman and his wife. He also had a Safari Classic in 375, and in talking said he had gone back to buy the one I had gotten, found it gone, and then had to look around a bit and get one not quite as pretty. Small world!!
