The fish is the new LA state record Warsaw Grouper---359.1# The fisherman is JJ Tabor from Thibadoux, LA. Eight outta the top ten have been caught on his boat. The fish was caught in the Gulf of Mexico. He runs my boat for overnight tuna trips. He's the only captain that guarantees tuna!!!!!!!

I don't know much about the Columbia River, but I'd be pretty surprised to see wahoo and amberjack come out of it.

.....The answer is "NO", the Warsaw grouper is a deep water grouper, while the Jewfish (or the new politically correct name, Goliath Grouper) is found in much shallower water, often less than thirty feet in depth, around bridges, or shallow bottom depressions. Jewfish have a distinctly mottled color pattern compared to the more even coloring seen in the above photo of a Warsaw grouper. Both have the typicaly large mouth associated with all of the grouper family, but the Jewfish has an even larger mouth in proportion to it's body...Does Warsaw grouper = jewfish?

Good ol' Cocodrie, LA.
some of the finest fishing in the world
Hurricane Gustav made landfall at Cocodrie as I suspect the fishing will be fair until the habitat and eco-system replenishes itself
hey George, just curious if you fish out of a custom Gravois boat ?
I'm in Youngsville, LA just 20 minutes from Gravois' shop
