K-Mart used to sell a 336 with a straight stock and a half or 2/3 magazine. Does anyone know what they were called?

The letters "TK" or "KT" come to mind.
If you browse the threads in the 336 section over on the Marlin Owners forum, you will find the answer.

I believe they were the 30tk or 30 tk. I think they had plain birch wood stocks.

They actually, if memory serves, had a different configuration. Something like no forearm barrel band, but had a front barrel band near the muzzle, or vise versa? Maybe it was no barrel bands. I just remember it looked cool.

Tried to attach the picture URL but it isn't going. Anyway, look here about 1/3 down the page for a post by NITRO, he put up a thumbnail of a 30TK. At least I'm pretty sure it's a 30TK.

They were in fact called the Marlin 30TK. They had an 18.5" barrel, 1/2 magazine, one barrel band and birch stocks with a rubber pad. I have actually never owned one, but have handled several. They are neat rifles, and very handy. I sure do prefer walnut though.

He adds this in his description :
The guns barrel is 18 1/2" long and the bore contains minor wear throughout the inside. (Chris) See Photos.
But has no pics of this "Minor wear "
Wouldn't a pic of the crown at least be in order , or even better a pic of the bore like this ?

From what I can see, I wouldn't be scared to buy this gun. It looks pretty clean for it's age.

I have a 30tk that I had rebored from 30-30 to .375 winchester. I've owned several of the factory .375 marlins, but i specifically wanted the short barrel, 2/3 mag and straight stock. It's a great handling and shooting gun.
