I 'm just getting started in loading cast bullets. What's the difference between cast, laser cast and hard cast bullets. I notice a difference in price and wondered what you recommend and why.

Laser cast is a brand of cast bullet, nothing more. In CAS you need to use soft bullets at low velocities as you are shooting at steel plates from close range. Hardcast is for hunting and penetration, the softer, close to pure lead bullet is good in CAS as it is far less likely to bounce back at you. Instead it deforms and drops down under the plates. The plates are placed in a manner to deflect mostly down and the soft lead helps to do so.

You want a 20-1 mix lead to tin at a minimum the less tin the softer the bullet but pure lead tends to leave to much residue in the barrel
