I have a BLR with a Hammer extension. It says "uncle mikes" and "BLR" on the back. Actually have three of these extensions, bought them off someone for .99 cents on ebay a few years back. The extensions I have, are completely flat, while the ones I see being sold on line, have a knurled extension, typically seen on 336s. Just kind of wondering if the extensions I have are "old", or is that typical of the Uncle Mikes BLR extensions being sold today, but the pictures supplied on web sites are just generic pictures of some other Uncle Mike extension?

Mine may have had a flat top as well. (the one on my old BLR) but it long since been sold, other extensions I have on hammer guns are round/knurled as you mention above. I have one on an 1895M ..... wait, no I don't, that one aint scoped. but it came with one in the box & it was a round one, never put it on. then I have a couple on Win 9422M's, they are round as well.
My guess is that unckle mikes made the extensions for Browning & the flat tops are probably for an extra bit of clearance or just to better compliment the styling of the rifle.
