I was fortunate enough to experience a Dall sheep hunt in AK last year. After reading my story yesterday, a fellow Campfire member asked me to post a link here, saying that there are a few kindred spirits that would enjoy it. Many here have already heard the tale, so I apologize for posting "old news." But here it is, if you have high speed 'net and a bit of time.

If you like this sort of thing, I would also highly recommend the sheep hunt link docdb posted in the "Head's Up" thread. T-Bone had a great hunt and did a good job of writing it up.

Oak,
I went on a sheep hunt last year in the NWT, and it was a walk in the park, compared to yours! Wow. Mine was at the end of July, so no snow, just daily rain, wind, and some tough climbs. Great write-up! Thanks again,
Don

Unfortunately, the pics crapped out after the first few for me.

But you earned that one, buddy, and that's the highest praise possible in my book.

Well done!

No flies on that......great hunt, photos, and report. Something most people can only dream about and only people that have done can understand.

Coming from someone who has never hunted sheep, that was a hell of a read. Made me feel like I was there. Great story and phots. Congrats. I'm curious what equipment he used as well...

Oak,
Just wanted to say that you did a fantastic job on the write-up. Very good! You truly worked for that ram and I'm sure it felt sweet to taste success at the end. T-Bone did a great job too, but his write-up lacked a lot of details, although it excelled because of the video which most of us usually don't have the luxury of having.

Todd's hunters got some really nice rams this year, including one that looks to be in the mid 160's.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. Regardless of the quality of animals I may harvest in the future, it will be difficult to top the experience of this hunt.

I'll put a gear list up sometime in the next day or so when I get a few minutes.

Oak,

Great story and pictures! It brought back memories from my sheep hunt in the Chugachs last year. Although my trip ended up being a much shorter duration than yours.
