I have never made three bean salad, but I've sure eaten some good ones.
I've been surfing the net, and have found so many different recipes my head is spinning!
Does anybody have a good one they can recommend? (preferably not too complicated, and a bit on the tart side I think).

A lot have more sugar added than this one. It's a little more tart and may be something you would like. If too sweet, reduce the sugar.
3 Bean Salad: 1/2 pound fresh green beans, washed and cut into 1/3 2 rounded teaspoons Dijon mustard 2 teaspoons sugar 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, eyeball the amount 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil, eyeball the amount 1 (15-ounce) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained 1/4 cup flat-leaf parsley, chopped Salt and freshly ground black pepper
In a bowl, combine mustard, sugar and vinegar. Whisk in oil. Add kidney beans, garbanzo beans, green beans and parsley to the bowl and toss to coat bean salad evenly with dressing. Season salad with salt and pepper, to taste, and serve.
I like it best if left to marinate overnight.

You have a good one there. This is not tart, but it's Italian. Tuscan bean salad they call it these days, and it's a big thing on thin toast as antipasti. You can use canned cannellini beans with a mixture of sliced garlic, onion, olives, basil, celery leaves, mint, parsley, and olive oil with salt and pepper.
The last time I made a Tuscan bean salad, I used cannellini beans, black olive slices, garlic, onion, basil, parsley, and olive oil. I served it with grilled tuna steaks on top. It's good to try a little trial and error with the seasonings to see what you like.

You know, I went to a couple of pig roasts where they served a cold bean salad and baked beans. The bean salad is more popular!

Quick bean salad, all canned components are drained and ,"dumped", in the mixing bowl. 1- large can kidney beans 1- can garbonzas 1-can field peas 1- can Rotel peppers and diced chiles 1- large red onion, finely chopped 2- green onions, chopped 2 oz.-bacon bits 1/4 cup- raisins 1/4 cup- dried cranberries 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup- zesty Italian dressing juice of 1 lime salt/pepper to taste
combine all ingredients, toss, try to refrigerate overnite. Great under grilled salmon or chicken

Thanks to all! Lots of great info!
After reading GPA's post, I did a bit of surfing, and found out the dish is even more healthy than I thought. I am making an effort to eat more dishes like this and less potatoes & rice -- so I will certainly use both recipes for variety!
I am intrigued by Terry8mm's recipe. I am trying to imagine bacon bits, raisins and cranberries together, but since I like all separately, the combo should be great.
Farmed salmon from the Norwegian fjords is quite cheap right now here in Sweden, so I will try grilled salmon on the bean salad rather then my usual boring rice. Of course, if the fishing gods are kind, I may be able to eat one of my own salmon, but it is nice to have a backup plan!
I think Rick could put together a "Best of the 24 Hour Campfire" Recipe book -- man, I've found some great recipes and cooking ideas here!
