Anyone own a M2?
Is it just a 3" version of the Super Black Eagle ?
I can buy an extra barrel for my SBE or upgrade the kids shotgun to a M2... for close to the same price.
I've already got a SBE.

M2 is a solid receiver, the top doesn't slide off like an SBE. Four shells max capacity. I love mine. It's very handy. Don't know how big your kid is but M2 is probably a better choice.

2 guns are always better than 1 gun and 2 barrels. I have the SBE II and I wouldn't trade it for any other auto out there. Also, looking at cost analysis...get a 2nd gun, you won't be sorry. Later on if you want to upgrade his to a SBE, the M2 won't be hard to sell.

Most Benelli troubles you hear of are with SBE's. The M1/M2 series seems to be more foolproof. I like the M1/M2 better, it handles better for me and is more conventional in the field stripping process. I have two M1's and they have spotless records for reliability in all sorts of conditions and round counts.

I don't like the length of the SBE, the action is so long you need a shorter barrel on it if you woods hunt. Mine has a 28" so it's LONGGGGGGG...
other than that I'm deadly accurate with it. I'll probably take the kids wingmaster and get a M2 field to replace it.
Thanks!

I have an M2 24" "steadygrip" that I bought mostly for predators & turkey hunting. I do have one 3.5" shotgun but have never felt the need for 3.5" shells. I think on average a 3.5" semi will have more problems cycling lighter shells than a 3". That's not a snipe against the SBE, just other semi-auto shotguns on average. When I feel the need a 3" Hevi-shot or Rem HD shell will get R done.
