Sounds like a bargain.

I was just going to ask what the differance is between the .44 Colt, .44 SPL, and the .44 WCF/44-40
I am thinking about getting an Uberti 1873 and a pair of revolvers but I want to get the same chambering in all three. I already have a Marlin and two Rugers in .44 Mag. But I want to get more traditional. I am thinking hard on the .44 SPL but it ain't really a traditional round only being a century or so old.I am leaning to the 44-40/ WCF. But I sort of want to go 1872 Opentops and they are only offered in .44 SPL, 38 SPL, .44 Colt/Russian, or .45 Colt. A 45 Colt Carbine wqas never made in the 1800's. I just do not care much for the 38 spl since anything I own has to be sutable to hunt with, and I have shot and lost coyotes with the .38 and the .45. The .44 catridge is supposed to have more intrinsic accuracy as well.

I would go for the .44 special if you want 40 plus caliber as components are plentiful and most CAS shooters are not all that worried about the cartridge. I have .38 open tops that I use. 44-40 is a be itch to reload as the cases are fragile. Although .45 Colt is the least expensive.
