OLD SAKO pre vixen Heavy Varmit .222
I was told it was made in the early 1950s. Shoots 40 & 45 grainers, 1 hole ! 50 and 55 grainers it key holes. Did they have a different twist back in the day ?

I tried Nosler 55 BT........Sierra 55 HP.... Hornady 55 ... ALL tumbled or shot large 1' groups.

Try the 55 Sierra Blitz or SMP. Both are flatbase and short for length. They often shoot better than the BTHP's or plastic tips..

The 55 V-Max FB won't work well.

If the gun has barrel/throat wear the flat bases often shoot better anyhow. Notice the config of your 40/45 grainers.

The 53 MatchKing ain't no slouch in these guns either.
