I have a friend who is looking for a set of matched stocks, new preferably, for a newer 99. Not sure of the model, but I'll get that today. He's insistent that they be "matched".
Thanks for any info!

I'm looking at gunstocks, inc. but have no experience with them IIRC stocks are about $50 don't remember what the forend is. They also upgrade for more of course. semi-inletted so they will need some work.

The last Savage made stock set that SavParts sold were in the $325-350 range. Not an easy find.
If Savage starts production on the 99 again there might be stocks available then.
I think Cabela's still sells the Boyd wood. Not Savage made and no pads on the side...

Steve had 99CD stocks correct? Are those the ones your talking about Rick?
I don't think Steve got rid of everything he had to Numrichs, he still shows up on Ebay with some old factory stuff from time to time. Haven't talked to him in over a month now and even when I do it usually ain't about obselete parts but I'll make of point of asking him what he's got laying around.

The gentleman wasn't in at work. I believe he's looking for a new set that is matched wood, forearm and butt. I don't think he's looking for "Savage" stocks per say. I believe he wants to set the gun up for match shooting (not sure of caliber or model. Will have that Monday). He's involved in some pretty serious match shooting in NY, and his daughter is one of the Presidents 100, what ever that means. I do know that he is a bolt guy, but swears by his Savage.
As soon as I have info, I'll post it. Thanks for all your help. As usual, you guys here at the 24 are the best.

I have a used set of 99F (circa 1954) stocks, that if I decided to sell them then I'd want $400 plus postage and the butt stock has a recoil pad..I don't really care to sell them as they are impossible to replace..I am just looking for a rifle with no stock mostly...someday one will find me...
