I loaded a group for my Kimber 22-250. To say it woudlnt stabalize them is an understatement... I think my group was about 3 FEET! ha!

You need a FAST twist.

My Colt AR with a 1:9 will stabilize them sufficiently for hunting. By that I mean about 1.5" groups or slightly less from a rifle that shoots 40-69 grain bullets into less than 1" regularly and often half that. A 1:7 would probably be ideal for the 223. I was hoping to see how my much faster 223 WSSM with it's 1:10 would work with them but I sold the scope. Maybe next year on that one.

There are lots of other good bullets that I would try if your twist rate is not sufficiently fast. The 53 or 62 grain TSX or the Nosler 60 grain comes to mind first. Also the 63 Win PP (many have hard times with loads for these) or the 69 grain Sierra.

Seen one go behind the shoulder of a deer quartering hard away and going slightly downhill. It traveled forward moving along the spine and exited just a RCH from dead center between the eyes.

Can't see how it wouldn't be a WICKED bastid, if the twist is fast enough.

S'head; of the 70 gr. TSX vs. the 75 gr. A-max, which is preferable, and why? Thinkin' I need to fast-twist tube the .223AI.....

Preferable for what? I like the 75gr A-Max of shooting but I don't use it for hunting.

Have settled on the 62gr TSX and 75gr Swift for killing.

The 75 gr. A-max while alright for sniping shots is far from a any situation deer bullet. The Scirroco is your huckleberry if you want a a close to 75 gr. A-max BC that will handle near and far situations, angles, and bones.
As far as the 70 gr. TSX goes I can't get enthused over it as it doesn't have enough BC advantage over the 62 gr. TSX to make up for it's lower velocity and the 62 gr. TSX is a penetrating son of a bitch.

VA, I'm guilt of shooting quite a few 75 A-maxs...think I burned up ~1800 this spring/summer.....They are wicked on woodchuck's and little critters. Farthest poke I connected with on a critter was a woodchuck at 575yds and there was no exit. Shot birds and little stuff out to 500yards with them with pretty explosive effect. I'm also guilty of poking a few whitetails with that bullet, the farthest was a small doe at 240yds and I put it in her lungs and got an exit in the off shoulder, which IS NOT at all what I was expecting to see. I really couldn't recommend it for deer duty. It did work when poking them in the lungs, but I put one right into a shoulder of a buck a few seasons back and it was messy, penetration was minimal, the bullet nuked quickly and I found small bullet fragments all through that buck and way up in the neck even; I won't do that again they are just not a tough bullet. I've used the 62TSX and that's the way to go for me, for now. When I run out of 62's I think I'm next going to try the 75gr Scirocco that Steely mentioned above. I'm lucky with my rifle that with the 75's zero'd at 200yds the 62's are dang close at 100yards so swapping bullets back and forth isn't a big deal and I don't have to do any rezoring.
