Was at my local shop this morning, nothing really grabbed me. 2 99E's in 308, an EG in 300 and a really nice pre-mil F in 300 but I just got rid of one exactly like it so I passed. Last time I was in there a nice post-mil R in 250-3000 came in and the guy behind the counter bought it off him before I even asked how much he wanted for it. Employee's shouldn't beat out the customers!

No doubt, I guess that'd be the place to be when the guns come through the door though.
He ain't a bad guy, knows what I'm looking for. He actually had an 1895 come in about 6 months ago and he didn't even get it catalogued before someone grabbed it. Told him next time one comes in to grab it and I'll trade him that 1899 in 38-55 he's been bugging me for for the last 3 years.

I was reading the classifieds this morning and saw a Winchester Model 70 FWT in 257 Roberts for $525. Not bad but I already have a 257R.

A lot of all kinds of guns in the shops around here & no one buying. 1 week to deer season the shops should be practically empty of guns.

this is the time of year to sell guns, in another month, nobody wants them. There are people like us, that will buy anytime, but, through experience, the gun has to be right for the $$. All that crap at the gun shop can stay there until they decide to sell it. It doesn't feel like things are getting better for selling right now.

The best time of year to sell guns in Jan and Feb. after Xmas and when tax checks are being received..At least that has been my experience over the last 50 years...Before Christmas surprisingly enough seems to be the worst time to sell guns??????

Around here the shops usually sell the most guns from late August (dove season starts around Labor Day) until Christmas. This year the end of August run never started. People are not buying toys , guns ,boats, bowling balls, or anything else it seems.
