Hi Chris I just joined this forum. I own a 1954 savage 99 in 300 savage that was passed down to me from my great great grand father. I use it every season for Deer and Elk, it has never failed me. I absolutlely love this rifle. Brandon

Chris, I swear I'm seeing more SRC's in 25-35 than I am any other caliber these days. Can't give you any numbers on SRC production though.
Hey, you coming up to camp at all this fall? We drew a bull and a cow tag for our area this year and I gotta take the kids to Traverse City (Great Wolf Lodge) this weekend and opening day is tomorrow!!!!! Grounds for divorce in my book. The guys will probably have the adult tags filled by the time I get back! Geez I'm hating my wife right now.

Have fun in traverse. The next time you are down let me know I may be able to help you some with a Hotel room. I guess i thought the 32-40 to be the rarest carbine followed by the 25-35, 38-55, 30-30, 303 sav? I guess that is what I thought though. No drill and tap on this rifle the front sight is in question but looks like it has always been there. A 1895 also found me refinished wood but am very happy with it as well. The pronghorn hunt proved more difficult than I thought my brother took a nice buck on our first day the old fart took a nice buck that evening. I took an old doe on the last evening My 11 year old had a blast on the hunt and that was the fist goal for me. Do you have info on the 5700 range? Thanks Chris

Howdy Be careful the savage thing is very addictive! I have a 300 thats about the same vintage that hooked me in I should have had her on this trip. Hope your hunts this fall are memorable. By the way my boy is the 4th generation with the 300.. Thanks Chris

Well I did a little digging on the carbines and it seems there is not a lot of info. Wondering what some of the experts think here as far as production numbers? I dug out the camera and had to post a few picts. My brother and his buck. My boy getting ready to hunt prairie dogs. Thanks Chris
