I picked up a few boxes of the sierra match bullet on sale, and would like to work up a load for the AR. I tried varget with mediocre results (armalite 1-9 16" chromed) Could be I'd just gotten the gun a little hot before trying the loads ;\) So if there is any go to powder for that bullet, I'll pick up a couple of pounds.

25.0 grains of H4895 is perfection in my AR with a 1:9 twist and every bolt action that I own with a 1:8 or 1:9 twist. Please work up to this load. It is NOT a max load, but every chamber is different.

CCI450 primer, Win or Rem brass, 69 gr Nosler or Sierra HPBT's will provide 3000 fps from a 26" barrel or 2960's in my 24" AR barrel. The AR shoots 1.5" at 300 yards.

For that bullet, I use either 24.5 grs. Varget for a Winchester Heavy Varmint or 25 grs. Varget for AR15 carbines. I use the same 25 gr. charge for 75 gr. Hornady Match bullets. Reloder 15 works very well and has a slight edge in my rifles for accuracy and about the same velocity.

The rifle that likes the 69 SMKs also really likes 55 gr. Sierra Game Kings with 26.5 grs. Varget. I have a varmint AR15 Colt rifle that was pretty lukewarm with the 69s, but loved the Hornady 60 gr. V-Max with 26 grs. Win. 748. Good luck. The ARs are an entertaining platform.

Benchmark is my powder of choice for the 69 grain Sierra BTHP in my AR. 23.5 grains has given me several sub half moa groups. The rifle is a stock Colt Delta Elite with the 24" 1:9 stainless barrel and flat top receiver.

I recommend this all over this board but Ramshot TAC may be your ticket...

24.7 grains of RL15 in LC brass with Rem 7 1/2 primer is what I settled on in my AR for that bullet weight. As mentioned chambers vary a bit so work up to any loads you come across.

Since I have both H-335 and varget, I'll have to try them. Just need to wait for my scope to show up and I'll do some load work to see what they'll do.
